The University of Kansas Field Station (KUFS) is dedicated to field-based environmental research and education. KUFS is located within the transition zone (ecotone) between the eastern deciduous forest and tallgrass prairie biomes. .

Aquatic assessment labs. Our scientists work together with state agencies, as well as tribal and federal entities, and academic scientists to study the health of streams and reservoirs primarily in this region.
