The Elcan is heavy, but its location doesn't affect the handling as much as something mounted farther out. The longer rail on the Block 2 is more versatile for me in different positions. The previous poster nailed it as far as the Block 2 being more geared towards mid-distances. If you have a MK18 clone then you need a Surfire can IMO. If this is a true to form clone you need a surefire. If this is a "close enough" clone then get a superlative arms adjustable gas block and a Turbo or a Nomad. <---this will by far yield the best performance. The Mk18 will be easier to manipulate in tighter quarters for the same reason. Other than that they're both great and you'll enjoy either. Figure out what you want to use it for and go from there.-The M16A4 is the “M4A1 Assault” with the Block II DD RIS & KAC-11 stock attachment -The Mk16 SCAR-L is the “ACR”. -The “416 Special Assault” simulates the HK416A7 -The “KOBLIN” simulates the 7.62mm HK417A2 -The “10.5in M4A1” & “M4A1 CQC” simulate the original Mk18 Mod 0 & old CQBR.If you have multiple guns and are wanting a full length carbine to stretch .556 out to further distances, go with the V7.
